WHEN DO WE MEET?
You can expect your Den to meet once per month, normally on the 1st or 2nd Tuesday. However, schedules may adjust throughout the year depending on the needs of the Den Leader and scouts in the Den. Check with your Den Leader for the schedule of upcoming meetings.
WHAT IS EXPECTED OF MY SCOUT AND ME?
Parents are expected to attend all meetings and participate with their scout! Bring a positive attitude and be ready to have fun!
Cub Scouting also operates through volunteer leadership, so your role as a parent is the secret to a successful Pack. Parents can help coordinate activities or run den meetings.
WHAT DO WE NEED?
Each scout needs to purchase their uniform shirt.
For our Lion Den, scouts will need the Lion T-Shirt. This can be purchased online or at the one of the Council Scout Shops.
For scouts in the Tiger - Webelos Dens (1st - 4th grade), they will need the blue uniform shirt with the Pack numerals and Council patches. Scouts in the Arrow of Light (AOL) Den can purchase the khaki uniform shirt with Pack numerals and Council patches.
The Pack will provide scouts with the appropriate neckerchief, slide, and handbook.
HOW DOES MY SCOUT ADVANCE TO THE NEXT RANK?
Throughout the Scouting Year, your scout will work on the requirements needed to achieve the rank of their current Den (e.g., a 1st grader in the Tiger Den works on the requirements to achieve the Tiger Rank). At the end of the Scouting Year (coinciding with the end of the school year), scouts will advance to the next Den and can begin working on the requirements of this new rank. Cub Scouts Dens are aligned with a scout's grade level so they will automatically advance to the next Den each Spring.
For 5th grade scouts in the Arrow of Light (AOL) Den, they will celebrate their advancement (known as "crossover") in February or March during the annual Blue & Gold Banquet. At this celebration, the Cub Scouts of the AOL Den crossover to become the newest Patrol of Troop 148.
